: The district election authorities have filed a case against the Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) for violation of the model code of conduct for offering food items to those who attended a meeting, which was addressed by the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa.

Senior officials, led by Chief Executive Officer of Gulbarga Zilla Panchayat Pallavi Akurathi, Deputy Secretary Vasant Kulkarni, and Deputy Director of Kannada and Culture Nagaraj visited the venue of the meeting in which the president of Jai Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Arunkumar Patil joined the KJP.

At the meeting, which was attended by more than 900 people as per the official estimate, candidates of ward nos. 17, 33, 42 and 49 of the Gulbarga City Corporation were introduced by Mr. Yeddyurappa. Senior leaders of the party, including the former Minister Sunil Valyapure, the former legislator B.R. Patil, M.Y. Patil, and former KPSC member Mukdappa participated. The officials inspected the kitchen where the food items were prepared and the hall where the people who had come to participate in the meeting were having lunch. However, the officials did not prevent people from having the food or seize the food items.
