The Canara Bank circle office, which has a network of 109 branches spread across Mysore and surrounding districts, conducted a roadshow here on Thursday to create awareness on banking services and products.

The campaign was launched by S.T. Ramachandra, Deputy General Manager, Canara Bank who said Mysore was one of the districts identified for the implementation of the direct benefit transfer scheme through Aadhaar-linked accounts. Hence, the bank was creating awareness among the public on opening bank accounts and linking it to the Aadhaar number.

He said financial inclusion was also high on the bank’s agenda.

It wanted to extend banking facility with relaxed KYC norms to street vendors and migrant labourers.

The bank also highlighted the Government’s pension scheme, Swavalamban, for workers in the unorganized sector, apart from focusing on housing and education loans.
