Head of the Sulpul Math Mahanta Shivacharyaru has demanded that the State government ban ‘made snana' and ‘pankti bhojana'.

Addressing a meeting outside the Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday, held as part of a protest organised by the Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (Sagar) and Pragatipara Vedike, the swami said that everybody should hang their hands in shame for allowing such practices. The protest by the DSS and the vedike was supported by other organisations. In a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda and submitted to the district authorities, the DSS and the vedike demanded a ban on them.
