PANAJI: The All Goa Students' Forum (AGSF) that spearheads the agitation by those deprived of the benefit of the "Cyberage Scheme" has called for a "college bandh" across the State on Wednesday.
The call has been made in protest against the "brutal" police action against agitating students in the city on Tuesday.
Students led by AGSF were protesting against the Government's "failure" to provide them with computers. They blocked the two main bridges at the entry point of the city in the afternoon, and the police intervened to clear the traffic block.
Over 500 students were taken into custody by the police. They later released.
Later, AGSF president Durgadas Kamat and other leaders spoke to presspersons and announced their plan of action.
The AGSF leaders alleged that the police had manhandled and beat up students although the agitation was peaceful.
