BANGALORE: The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will take up several development works, including road upgradation, at a cost of Rs. 30 crore in the new areas of Byatarayanapura zone.

BBMP Commissioner S. Subramanya, who inspected the hoarding removal and encroachment clearance drive in Byatarayanapura, launched 136 works in the area on Wednesday.

Mr. Subramanya directed the jurisdictional officials to ensure that the works are completed within the stipulated deadlines.

Inspection

He inspected work to upgrade the Double Road near Mother Dairy in the area, which includes asphalting, laying of under ground drainage pipes and street lights at a cost of Rs. 30 lakh.

Upgradation work in areas, including Vidyranyapuram, Kogilu, Thanisandra, Horamavu and Sahakarnagar in Byatarayanapura, was also launched.
