Broadband services to be introduced in Koppal by next week BSNL commissions 32 towers in Davangere and Chitradurga districts
DAVANGERE: Chief General Manager of Telecom, Karnataka Circle, S. RamaGanapathi, has said that broadband services would be introduced in all taluk headquarters in a phased manner this year and equipment for 3,25,000 additional lines would be allotted to Karnataka.
Distributing the Sancharasarathi and Sanchar Seva Padak awards to BSNL employees here on Monday, Mr. Ganapathi said broadband services would be introduced in Koppal by next week and with this broadband services would be made available in all district headquarters in Karnataka. A number of new tariff plans had been introduced for the benefit of customers.
"Excel power" was one such scheme under which Cellone customers could call any two BSNL numbers in Karnataka for10 paise a minute. But, one of the two numbers had to be BSNL landline in Karnataka.
Referring to Chitradurga Telecom District, he said there were 10 base stations with a capacity of 8,250 lines to provide telephone connections with Wireless in Local Loop .
He said BSNL had recently commissioned 32 towers in Davangere and Chitradurga districts.
