Pensioners’ demand

The office-bearers of the Karnataka State Government Pensioners’ Association on Saturday met Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar here and submitted a memorandum seeking medical facility to the State government pensioners. According to a press release, association president D.N. Sampath and secretary Revannasiddiah, during their meeting with Mr. Shettar, said that Punjab, Haryana and Andhra Pradesh governments had hiked pension at 5 per cent, 10 per cent and 15 per cent to those pensioners aged 65, 70 and 75 respectively. The office-bearers urged Chief Minister to consider their demands and make provision in the regard in the ensuing budget. Mr. Shettar assured them to review their demands, the release said. — Staff Reporter
