`Wealth case' adjourned till July 29BANGALORE: The "disproportionate assets" case against former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa and four others has been adjourned till July 29. On Saturday, when the proceedings began in the Special Court, where the case is being heard, Special Public Prosecutor B.V. Acharya said the Supreme Court, which had stayed proceedings by the Special Court, had posted the matter for July 24. He said the Special Court could give any date after July 24. Counsel for the accused filed applications for exemption from personal appearance.

Health Minister visits KolarKolar: Health Minister R. Ashok on Friday visited Doddashivara and Masthi villages in Malur taluk of Kolar district where cases of chikungunya were reported. He went to the primary health centres and enquired about the health of patients. He directed District Health Officer Rajeev to ensure that there were stocks of medicines in the health centres, and said the Government would meet the requirement for drugs immediately.
