NABARD funds for State
Bangalore: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs. 192.02 crore to Karnataka for development projects.
According to a release, the money had been sanctioned for 394 roads, 20 bridges and 13 rural godowns. These projects, to be completed by 2008, would benefit 26 districts. Special Correspondent
Suvarna Gramodaya programme
Bangalore: In-charge Ministers and deputy commissioners of Tumkur, Chitradurga, Bijapur, Bangalore Rural, Koppal, Bellary, Raichur, Haveri, Shimoga and Bagalkot have selected around 400 villages for implementing the Suvarna Gramodaya programme.
Announcing this at a meeting of in-charge Ministers here on Wednesday, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister C.M. Udasi said the names of the remaining 600 villages would be submitted by in-charge Ministers of other districts shortly. Staff Reporter
Bangalore: The Karnataka Shilpakala Academy will hold its annual exhibition in traditional and contemporary sculpture in January next.
Sculptors born in the State or those domiciled here for at least five years are eligible to participate in the event. They should be in the 18 to 45 age group.
