: Accusing the party of sidelining “loyal” party workers, Raju Gowda Patil, district president of BJP Yuva Morcha, decided to quit the party along with 30 other office-bearers, and join the Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP).

Making the announcement at a press conference here on Monday, he said the party leaders were taking unilateral decisions without consulting office-bears of the morcha.

Mr. Gowda said that despite serving for over 15 years, the current leaders, including the BJP MLAs and the district president, were taking decisions without consulting senior members.

The State needed a strong regional party as people have lost faith in national parties, he said, defending his decision to join KJP.
