MYSORE: President of the State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Wednesday expressed the hope that the BJP would win all six teachers' and graduates' seats in the elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council.
Addressing presspersons here, Mr. Sadananda Gowda said that the Bharatiya Janata Party had always tried to address the problems of teachers and graduates and he was optimistic that all its candidates would be elected to the Council in the elections to be held on June 17.
Ministers, office-bearers and workers of the party had been directed to work for the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party candidates, he said.
He said that while in the Opposition, the Bharatiya Janata Party had fought for the interests of farmers and all sections of society. A pro-farmer budget was one of the contributions of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the coalition Government, he claimed.
Mr. Sadananda Gowda arrived here from Mandya to campaign for BJP candidate Gurunanjaiah who is contesting from South Graduates' Constituency. He held a meeting with the office-bearers and party workers.
