Raichur: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Shobha Karandlaje said on Saturday that the achievements of the previous National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government at the Centre and the present BJP Government in the State will certainly help the party win at least 22 Lok Sabha seats in the State.

She told presspersons here that the disgruntled attitude of leaders like the former Union Minister Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and B.B. Shivappa will not affect the prospects of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Lok Sabha elections.

Ms. Shobha Karandlaje told party workers at Yergera village that they should remain united and support party candidates in the Lok Sabha elections keeping aside their differences. She asked them to campaign for the party at the gram panchayat level in Raichur Lok Sabha constituency.

She said the previous Congress and JD (S) governments were responsible for power crisis and water shortage in State. However, the BJP Government has taken measures in the last ten months to solve people’s problems.

Ms. Karandlaje said the UPA Government at the Centre had failed to safeguard the interests of the poor and the common man and had failed to control terrorist and naxalite activities in the country.

She said the State unit of BJP will start campaigning and that she hoped the developmental works taken up by Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will encourage people in the State to favour her party in Lok Sabha elections.
