Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has said that the BJP will get a clear mandate in the May 5 Assembly elections owing to the development schemes taken up in the last five years, despite several impediments.
Speaking at the BJP convention here on Tuesday, Mr. Shettar said that the party had launched the ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’ on February 22 in Mysore.
It would be taken to every district in the State to highlight the development projects implemented by the BJP government during the last five years, he said.
In order to provide proper facilities to people in rural areas, the State government had launched a programme to develop 3,300 villages under the Suvarna Grama Yojana. However, the Union government had not released funds for various schemes, Mr. Shettar said.
He expressed confidence that the people would once again support the BJP for the good work it had done in the State.
State BJP president Pralhad Joshi said that now there were no differences of opinion among party leaders and they would work together for the success of the party in the Assembly elections.
