Foundation stone laid for model police station building

at Toranagal

TORANAGAL (BELLARY DISTRICT): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government headed by B.S.Yeddyurappa would prevail upon the Union Government to nationalise mining and ban export of iron ore, Mr. G. Janardhan Reddy, Minister for Tourism and Infrastructure Development, said here today.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for a model police station building taken up by JSW Steels Limited at Toranagal, Mr. Reddy said the Government would encourage setting up of industries to add value to iron ore.

“The Governmnet was encouraging steel industries to be set up here to make use of the natural mineral resources and add value to it. As an industrialist too, I welcome it as it would also generate a lot of employment opportunities,” he said.

Mr. Reddy said Torangal, which is between Hospet and Bellary cities, was emerging as an industrial nerve- centre after the JSW set up its industries.

G. Somashekar Reddy, Bellary MLA, said with the kind of industrial development taking place, Bellary district would soon rise to glory.

Seemant Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police, thanked the JSW for providing a model police station building and said that sincere efforts would be made by the district police to be the model force.

Legislators K.S.L. Swamy and T.H. Suresh Babu, joint managing director and CEO of JSW Steels Shivasagar Rao, and executive director of JSW Vinod Nowal spoke.
