Bhadravathi: The taluk unit of the BJP has submitted a memorandum to Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa urging him to take steps to provide round-the-clock security in and around the Government General Hospital in Old Town.

Miscreants were causing disturbance in the vicinity and abusing doctors and other hospital staff in filthy language, the memorandum said. Another memorandum was also submitted urging Mr. Yediyurappa to award monthly pension to 18 retired wrestlers in the taluk.

Though pension was sanctioned in 2003, funds were not released as the department concerned fell short of resources, the memorandum said.
