BJP reconstitutes office-bearers’ team

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday reconstituted its team of State-level office-bearers.

The striking feature of the new 29-member team, which continues to be headed by the party’s State unit president Pralhad Joshi, is that some of supporters of the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa have been given prominent posts. Also, several legislators, especially former Ministers, have been made office-bearers. However, none of the MPs have been included in the team as they will have to focus on the Lok Sabha election campaign. In all, the team has 10 vice-presidents, including the former Minister V. Somanna and MLA B.N. Vijaykumar, and four general secretaries, including the former Minister C.T. Ravi. B.L. Santosh continues to be the organising general secretary. The team has nine secretaries. — Special Correspondent
