Bijapur: General secretary of the State unit of the Janata Dal (Secular) Bandenawaz Mahabari has alleged that the BJP Government in the State has failed to protect the interests of poor and middle-class people.

Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, he said that though the BJP came to power in the name of farmers, it had failed to provide them power supply and other facilities. In fact, the condition of farmers had deteriorated further, he alleged. School and college students were facing problems while preparing for exams due to increased load shedding.

Mr. Mahabari claimed that instead of concentrating on the development of the State, the BJP leaders were involved in taking political revenge against leaders of other parties and transferring officials who failed to fulfil their demands.

He said that the Janata Dal (S) had strengthened the party from grassroots level in every district and would win the maximum number of seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
