Bangalore: Communist Party of India general secretary A.B. Bardhan has described the Bharatiya Janata Party Government in Karnataka as a “stinking cesspool of corruption with a total lack of any moral authority” and predicted its fall “on account of its own omissions and commissions”.
Speaking to presspersons here on Wednesday after the three-day national council meeting of the party held here, Mr. Bardhan said that the BJP Government was making a “desperate effort to prolong its life by yielding to the demands of the mining mafia led by the Bellary brothers.”
Mr. Bardhan said that Government was consistently taking anti-farmer positions, the latest among them being the lathi-charge on agitating farmers from north Karnataka in front of Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday, who had suffered crop losses in the recent floods. The relief was given in a partisan manner, he added.
“All this besides trying to communalise politics,” he added.
