Union Labour and Employment Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge has termed the political situation in the State as “disgusting” and pointed out that the Bharatiya Janata Party government was setting a bad example by continuing to stay in power on technical grounds after losing majority in the Assembly.

Talking to presspersons here on Friday, he said it was an unfortunate political drama being enacted in the State where the government was doing everything to cling on to power. Mr. Kharge said: “The infighting in the BJP began soon after it came to power. This has affected the overall development of the State,” he said. Mr. Kharge said there were many Chief Ministers who have resigned after losing majority. On Jagadish Shettar’s decision to present the budget, he said: “It would not be the budget. Instead, it would be the BJP’s manifesto,” he added.
