MLA blames State Government for IISc. incident

CHIKMAGALUR: C.T. Ravi, MLA and BJP Yuva Morcha State unit President, said here on Saturday that a resolution to launch a Statewide campaign against terrorists and naxalites will be adopted at the office-bearers' meeting of the morcha in Bangalore on January 6.

Mr. Ravi accused the UPA Government at the Centre of failing to provide security to the nation against terrorist attacks. Referring to the killing of a scientist in Bangalore, he said it is a security lapse as the authorities had information about an attack at least five days in advance.

Regretting that Bangalore has become a safe haven for militants, he criticised Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh, who holds the Home portfolio, for not giving importance to security.

He said the policies of the coalition Government in the State has led to the steady growth of naxalism.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the performance of his party in the recently concluded elections to the zilla and taluk panchayats in the district, Mr. Ravi said that though the BJP improved its tally, it had failed to consolidate the anti-Congress votes.
