The district BJP has condemned the Chief Minister’s decision to defer distributing Re. 1 per kg rice to Below Poverty Line families and to ban gutka. In a release, district president K. Padmanabha Kottari said Siddaramaiah had “cheated the people” by deferring the decision on rice while ban on gutka adversely affect areca growers as no alternative arrangements had been made for them.
