The Bidar Utsav will be held from April 7, Deputy Commissioner Sameer Shukla has said.
The three-day cultural fest will include cultural performances by popular Bollywood stars, folk artistes, and classical musicians and dancers. It will also have a Krishi Mela, adventure sports, a kids' corner and a national-level kite festival, he told presspersons.
To be held at four venues, the main events will be held at the stage put up behind the Turkish Mahal in the Bidar fort.
Events like the Patang Utsav will be held in front of the Chandni Chabutara, adventure sports will be held at the ground on the way to Bommagonda lake, and the Krishi Mela will be held at the ground near the Delhi Darwaza.
Classical music and dance programmes and folk performances will be held at the Rang Mandir. Artistes from Bidar district will be allowed to perform here. A team led by the Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture Shantkumar Patil will select local artistes.
Selections will be held in Aurad on March 26, Bhalki on March 27, Humnabad March on 28, Basavakalyan on March 29 and Bidar on March 30.
At the main venue, artists Guru Kiran, Flora Shiney, and Kunal Ganjawala will perform on the first day.
On the second day, the Sabri brothers will present a qawwali performance and a Siddi team from Gujarat will perform folk dances. On the last day, Javed Ali and Kashmira Shah will present a song and dance extravaganza.
A procession will mark the inauguration on April 7. The utsav is being funded by local donations, the Deputy Commissioner said.
