The former Minister and leader of the Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) Shobha Karandlaje has said that people will teach a lesson to those who betrayed KJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa, in the Assembly elections.
Speaking at a public meeting here on Tuesday, Ms. Karandlaje said that many aides of Mr. Yeddyurappa had promised to support him to strengthen the regional party but betrayed him later owing to pressure from BJP leaders.
During his tenure as Chief Minister, Mr. Yeddyurappa had launched several schemes for the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden, which no other Chief Minister had done.
The KJP had fielded its candidates in almost all constituencies. It had offered ticket to 30 candidates from the Scheduled Castes. The party had tried to give representation to every community, she said.
She appealed to voters to support the KJP candidates in the May 5 Assembly elections.
