The Lokayukta police trapped Dattappa Talavar, a Block Education Officer, while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 26,000 from an employee of the Department of Education here on Monday.

Education Coordinator Prabhuling Mahagaon complained to the Lokayukta police that Mr. Talavar had demanded the bribe for clearing bills of Rs.1.24 lakh for civil works that had been taken up in schools. — Staff Correspondent
