The KLE University's College of Pharmacy and Regional Medical Research Centre and the Indian Council of Medical Research will jointly organise the International Convention of Society of Pharmacognosy in the city for three days from February 18. According to chairman of the local organising committee F.V. Manvi here, delegates from Canada, the U.S., the U.K., South Africa, Malaysia, Bangladesh and from across India will participate in the event.
There will be lectures on the theme ‘Global challenges and opportunities in herbal medicines', besides deliberations, interactive sessions and paper presentations.
The convention is expected to address issues related to herbal medicines and drug discovery from natural products, thereby contribute to the holistic approach to global healthcare, Dr. Manvi said.
