“We are fed up with corruption and harassment,” said an autorickshaw driver amidst fellow drivers who joined the nationwide anti-corruption crusade led by Anna Hazare in support of the Jan Lokpal Bill. “If we do not bribe, then we are harassed. Still, we feel some good may follow once Anna's Jan Lokpal comes into being,” he said.

The autorickshaw drivers took out a procession through the main roads of the city and, braving unexpected rain, staged a demonstration at Rani Chennamma Circle to express their solidarity with Team Anna on Tuesday.

Freedom fighters and senior citizens holding national flags, posters of Anna Hazare and placards demanding a Jan Lokpal Bill also marched from different parts of the city to the circle. Students and the youth continued to extend their support, taking short breaks from their classes.

In the evening, writers, artists and prominent persons in various fields, besides members of the Belgaum district Kannada Sahitya Parishat and other cultural organisations, took out a candlelight procession from Bogarves to Rani Chennamma Circle.
