“Journalists should keep themselves abreast of the latest developments and work towards honing their skills. That is the only way to remain relevant and stay ahead of the competition,” senior journalist and MLC Khaji Arshed Ali said here on Saturday.

Speaking at the Media Day celebrations organised by the Karnataka Union of Working Journalists and the Information Department, Mr. Ali urged journalist associations to organise training sessions for members. “People in various professions contribute to society in many ways. But our responsibilities are more because people tend to trust us more. We should develop an interest in reading and analysing all issues related to everyday life,” he said. KUWJ district unit president Malappa Adasare said the State Government had agreed to provide land and Rs. 28.5 lakh for the construction of a Patrika Bhavan in Bidar. Rahim Khan, MLA, promised help in this regard.
