The Mangalore City Corporation will organise a series of programmes to raise awareness among school and college students about proper disposal of solid waste, Commissioner K.N. Vijayaprakash has said. Speaking at a cleanliness drive launched by Ganapati College on Thursday, Dr. Vijayaprakash said students should guide their parents in proper disposal of waste. About 220 tonnes of waste was generated in the city every day. If the waste was not scientifically disposed, it would be difficult to make Mangalore a clean city.
