Bangalore's very own ‘Pizza Granny', Padma Srinivasan, who sold pizzas to raise funds for a home for senior citizens, has been given an award for ‘Bravery in Social Work'.

A retired cost accountant, Ms. Srinivasan was presented the Godfrey Phillips Bravery Award at a function in Kolkata recently, according to a statement here.

Ms. Srinivasan is the founder managing trustee of Vishranthi, a home for senior citizens here. The award is in recognition of her work for the community and for senior citizens. She put her savings into the Vishranthi project, and served pizzas to employees of IT companies, braving competition from franchise outlets.
