Bangalore: “Shut Up and Vote.” This is the title of a new rock show — not just to entertain but to awaken the youth to vote. The nationwide campaign launched by Jaago Re! One Billion Votes Campaign, is a joint initiative of Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy, a non-profit organisation, and Tata Tea. “Shut Up and Vote” will be a rock show tour by Indian Rock Band — Thermal and a Quarter (TAAQ) — aiming to leverage the platform of music to encourage the youth to vote. The band will perform across five cities, Chennai (on March 20), Kolkata (March 23), Delhi (March 25), Mumbai (March 27) and Bangalore (March 28).

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Jasmine Shah, Campaign Coordinator, Jaago Re! One Billion Votes, said the music has always been able to move the youth and hence, it has been chosen as a platform to woo the young voters.
