Enmity and professional rivalry is believed to be the reason for attack

Bangalore: A 22-year-old autorickshaw driver Joseph Kantharaj was stabbed to death near Sirsi Circle flyover on Mysore Road here on Friday.

A gang of four persons came in an autorickshaw and stabbed Joseph and his neighbour Jitendra Singh around 11.30 p.m., the police said.

The condition of Jitendra is said to be critical.

The police have detained a few persons in connection with the incident.

“The main accused has been identified as Gunda, an autorickshaw driver. Enmity and professional rivalry are said to be the reasons for the attack,” an officer at the Chamarajpet police station said.

Jitendra Singh had decided to mediate between Gunda and Joseph and called the former for talks. But the main accused came in an autorickshaw with his accomplices and committed the crime, the officer said.
