BANGALORE: The body of an autorickshaw driver was found with strangulation marks on his throat, in his house at Motammana Palya on Saturday night.

The Indiranagar police, who registered a case of suspected murder, gave the name of the victim as Gajendra (68), who was residing near Krishna Reddy Bungalow in Motammana Palya here.

“On Saturday, his family called us,” said an officer of Indira Nagar police station.

Gajendra’s wife, children and sons-in-law were in the house when the body was found with strangulation marks.

However, he said that “the police are waiting for the post mortem report from the Victoria Hospital.” The police are investigating.


A 22-year-old labour drying his clothes was electrocuted at Agrahara near Sampigehalli here on Sunday morning.

The victim was identified as Sudhor, a native of Orissa.

He was was working with a construction company, according to the police.

“Sudhor was living in a shed with his friend.

On Sunday, around 9 a.m., he was drying his clothes inside the shed and came to contact with a live cable.

He suffered burns. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died,” said the Sampigehalli police.


The Koramangala police have arrested an employee of Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training on the charge of misappropriating Rs. 17 lakh, belonging to the institution.

The accused was a resident of Sultanpalya near R.T. Nagar and identified as B.K. Srikanth.

He was working as an accountant at the Koramangala branch of the Frankfinn Institute. He allegedly misappropriated the money by issuing manual receipts to students and not depositing the amount in the company’s account over some months. The crime came to light when a student lodged a complaint.
