Bangalore: A 35-year-old autorickshaw driver, Nanjunda of Sriramapura, was stabbed to death here on Thursday allegedly by his friend Manjunath (37).

The police attributed the motive to jealousy as the victim was a social worker and was popular.

Manjunath was arrested and sent to judicial custody, the police said.

The Anekal police arrested the former president of Anekal BJP Yuva Morcha, Vishwanath (32) and his four alleged accomplices in connection with a murder.

The accused Vishwanath, who has been removed from the party, had allegedly given a “supari” of Rs. 10 lakh to four men to kill his wife Shubha.

Dies at bus stop

Naveen N. (24), a labourer, died at a bus stop near Muneshwara temple inside Jnanabharathi campus. Naveen, was a resident of Manganahalli.

The man who said he was feeling giddy asked for water from some passers-by. He collapsed seconds after drinking the water and died.
