BANGALORE: An autorickshaw driver was found murdered in a vacant plot in Kadugondanahalli police station limits on Friday.

The police said passers-by found the body of Arumugam (30) in a vacant plot near a school in Anwar Layout, off Tannery Road.

The assailants had smashed his head with a boulder.

The Kadugondanahalli police, who have registered a case of murder, said they were yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder, which is suspected to have taken place on Thursday night.

Robbed

Two men, riding a motorcycle, dashed against a motorist in Koramangala police station limits and made away with his mobile phone worth Rs. 9,000 on Thursday.

The police said the incident occurred around 9 p.m. when Vishwas, a marketing executive, was going to his house in Seshadripuram on his motorcycle.

On reaching 6th Block, Koramangala, he stopped his motorcycle to answer a call on his mobile phone.

Two men, who came on a motorcycle, dashed against Vishwas's vehicle.

As his mobile phone fell down, the two made away with it, the police said. The Koramangala police have registered a case.

Bid to loot cables

A 12-member gang on Thursday night attacked the security personnel of KPTCL's power receiving station at Hoody in an attempt to loot aluminium cables.

The police said the gang attacked Narasimhalu and Muniswamy, security guards, and tried to enter the powerhouse. When the guards raised an alarm, the intruders ran away.
