Tapal Ganesh, owner of a mining firm, has welcomed the attachment of assets amassed by jailed mining bardon G. Janardhan Reddy by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The seizure of investment in Brahmini Steels, being set up by Mr. Reddy in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, and other properties attached to it, estimated to be worth Rs. 884 crore, seems to be just the beginning, he said in a press release. “Going by the reported statement of Mr. Reddy on the floor of the Assembly in Belgaum a couple of years ago that his assets were worth several hundreds of crores, the assets attached by the ED is very small,” he said.
