The Karnataka State Aided and Private Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and Industrial Training Centre (ITC) Servants' Association has decided to intensify its agitation in support of its demands.

In a press release issued here on Saturday, the association said that its members would wear black badges during duty hours in all ITIs of the State from July 6 to 8 as part of the protest seeking implementation of the Thomas committee report.The association said that if the demand was not fulfilled, the members would stage a dharna in front of office of the Director of Employment and Training in Bangalore on June 9. All the ITIs would be closed that day. The office-bearers of the association would meet the Chief Minister and the Labour Minister on the next day. The Thomas committee report had favoured implementation of revised aid.

The association sought transfer of salary of the employees of aided ITIs from the planned scheme to non-planned scheme and time-bound increments for eligible candidates.
