Fighting on the support of Jagrut Goencarancho Ekvott (JGE), a village groups' collective, Ashley F. Dias has made it his goal to face the challenge by contesting the March 3 Assembly election from Benaulim constituency of south Goa against the ruling Congress's candidate advocate Valanka Alemao, daughter of Minister for Public Works Churchill Alemao.
His mission of social work began nearly two decades ago. Besides managing his business, he created time to get involved in helping others to deal with problems such as poverty, alcoholism, and HIV/AIDS among others. “Goa got tarnished by innumerable scandals relating to drugs, prostitution, mining, gambling, and so on. The need is to address these issues with effective solutions and now is the time for Goan voters to create history by electing honest candidates with proven track records for positive development,” Mr. Dias said on Saturday while addressing presspersons at a JGF press conference in the city.
