Bangalore: Six armed men attacked a driver of a goods-carrier on National Highway 48 near Kadaballi Cross on the city's outskirts in the early hours of Sunday and took away around gold ornaments, cash and other valuables from him. The victim was identified as S. Manjunath of Aralepet in Hassan. He was transporting some material when the incident happened.

An officer at the Bindiganavile police station in Nelamangala taluk told The Hindu: “The incident occurred around 4.30 a.m. on Sunday. The gang attacked the victim and assaulted him with lethal weapons and robbed him of a gold chain worth Rs. 60,000, Rs. 6,000 in cash and other valuables.” The Bindiganavile police are investigating a case.
