Cuddalore: Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Thursday expressed the hope that next month's meeting between the Chief Secretaries of his State and Tamil Nadu will help find an amicable solution to the Hogenakkal and Cauvery row.

“Both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu Governments maintain good relationship on all matters, despite the row over Cauvery and also Hogenakkal. The Chief Ministers too have a cordial relationship,” he told reporters in Thiruvahindrapuram village near here.

He said a solution would hopefully be found at the meeting of the Chief Secretaries of both the States on June 12. Karnataka is opposed to the contentious Hogenakkal drinking water scheme and a hydel power project utilising the inter-state Cauvery waters.

The State has accused Tamil Nadu of deviating from the original plan on the Hogenakkal project. — PTI
