BANGALORE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has said that the Government has constituted an expert committee for developing Kannada software and is awaiting its report.

He has disclosed this in a written reply to Chairman of the Kannada Development Authority and MLC Mukhymantri Chandru, who sought details of action initiated by the Government for the implementation of Kannada in administration.

Mr. Chandru sought the details when the budget session of the Legislative Council was in progress but the reply came after the House session ended.

Right from the taluk level, all the official heads in all the departments concerned have been asked to submit a progress report on the implementation of Kannada compulsorily on the fourth day of every month on a regular basis. All the issues pertaining to the implementation of Kannada, including progress and problems, should compulsorily be deliberated in all the district and taluk level review meetings. In an exclusive circular, the Government had also asked the higher officials concerned to register their remarks in the annual service record against those who did not use Kannada in administrative matters, the Chief Minister said.
