DAVANGERE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, at the inauguration of the Vijaya Sankalpa Samavesha of the Bharatiya Janata Party here on Tuesday told his party workers to “learn a lesson from the Congress that had not only misruled the State but had been disloyal to the people. Let us be with the people till the last day of our regime by addressing their problems”.

“Even I did not expect such a fabulous victory in the corporation elections,” he said.

He added that it was a tremendous performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party which now had 112 councillors in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike. He said that he had informed top leaders of the party, including L.K. Advani, who commanded the State BJP, of the victory.

He also said that he would be going to Delhi and would meet the veteran party leader and former Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee and inform him of the victory.

Mr. Yeddyurappa called upon the workers to work hard and win all the imminent gram panchayats in the State. He exuded confidence that the BJP would steadily increase its power in the State and in the next Parliamentary elections, it would win all the seats in the State helping the party at the Centre to form the government. Senior leader H.N. Ananth Kumar said that all was not well with the UPA Government and that the Government at the Center would not last long.
