BANGALORE: A heated exchange of words between a 30-year-old autorickshaw driver and his former father-in-law led to the murder of the former in Kalappa Layout in HAL police station limits on Sunday, according to the police.
The police said that M. John, autorickshaw driver, had married Geeta, daughter of Dankanachari, a carpenter and his neighbour. Following the death of Geeta, he had married Ramya.
On Saturday night, John returned home in an inebriated state. As he was parking his autorickshaw, John met Dankanachari's son, Dhananjaya, and the two were having a conversation that enraged Dankanachari. Following a heated exchange of words, he attacked John with a sickle-like object.
When John collapsed on the road, Ramya took the assistance of their neighbours and shifted him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.Based on her complaint, the HAL police have registered a case of murder. The police have launched a search for Dankanachari and Dhananjaya.
The body of an 18-year-old girl, Roopa, an employee of a garment factory, was found in the eucalyptus grove in Heggadevanapura in Nelamangala police station limits on Sunday.
According to Superintendent of Police (Bangalore Rural) B.A. Mahesh, Roopapassersby found the burnt body of Roopa in the eucalyptus grove. “We have not found any external injuries. We are waiting for autopsy report to know whether it is a suicide or a murder,” Dr. Mahesh said. The Nelamangala police have registered a case of murder.
