Gas leak

Three persons of a family were injured when leakage from a LPG cylinder set fire to their house in Krishnappa Layout near Subbarayanapalya on Saturday morning.

The Banaswadi police gave the names of the injured as Raju, his wife, Gajalakshmi, and their relative, Shivashankar. Ms. Gajalakshmi forgot to turn off the regulator on Friday night, resulting in the gas leak.

When she switched on the kitchen light the following morning, the electrical spark ignited the gas. The explosion damaged a few windows, doors and walls of the house.

NGO raided

The Upparpet police on Saturday raided a NGO Karnataka Manava Hakkugala Parishad (Karnataka Human Rights Council) for allegedly cheating the public. The raid follows a complaint filed by Priyanka of Nandini Layout, who famously disrupted a wedding ceremony saying the groom had jilted her. The police raided the NGO and arrested Sathish, brother of council president Vivekananda, who is said to be absconding. Some documents were seized from the premises.
