Outgoing Vice-Chancellor of VTU H.P. Khincha greets him with a bouquet
H. Maheshappa, who has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Belgaum-based Visvesvaraya Technological University by the Governor and Chancellor H.R. Bhardwaj on Wednesday, assumed charge here on Thursday.
The outgoing Vice-Chancellor, H.P. Khincha, Registrar K.V.A. Balaji, Principal of KLE Society's College of Engineering S.C. Pilli, Principal of Karnataka Law Society's Gogte Institute of Technology Anand S. Deshpande and senior staff of the VTU were present.
Dr. Khincha offered a flower bouquet to Dr. Maheshappa.
Dr. Maheshappa is the fourth Vice-Chancellor of the VTU since its establishment about 12 years ago. He had served as Special Officer of the university from 1998 to 2003.
S. Rajaseakharaiah from Tumkur was the first Vice-Chancellor of the university to have served first term at the university.
K. Balaveera Reddy, originally from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, had served for two terms. Prof. Khincha was the third Vice-Chancellor for one term, which ended on Tuesday.
