A 23-year-old woman was found murdered at her father’s house in J.P. Nagar here on Tuesday.

The police identified her as Ashwini.

The murder came to light when Vijayakumar, her brother, returned from work and found her in a pool of blood.

Her throat was reportedly slit.

The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.

Ashwini’s father Jagannath Achar was on a visit to Chitradurga.

According to the police, Ashwini was married to a software engineer from Bangalore. The couple was estranged soon after the wedding over two years ago and she had been living with her father since then, and recently enrolled in a computer course.

Senior police officers, including Commissioner of Police K.L. Sudheer, as well as fingerprint experts visited the spot.

The Vidyaranyapuram police have registered a case.
