Around 300 computer operators working in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) offices gathered outside the Karmika Bhavan here recently demanding pending salaries and other statutory entitlements.

Speaking to The Hindu , Tanujakshi, president, BBMP Computer Officers Association, said that 600 computer operators had not received their salaries for the last six months. The BBMP had outsourced the work in its offices across the city to KEONICS. “Despite repeated protests, KEONICS and BBMP have failed to give us our salaries,” she said.

The association had staged a protest on July 10 and submitted a memorandum to N. Jairam, Additional Commissioner (Administration), who said that they would be paid in a fortnight. But, action has not been taken, she said.
