Sir, — The government should impose strictures on all agencies, including government ones, who dig up roads, to clear debris and repair the road immediately. Branches of trees cut by the electricity supply companies should also be immediately cleared to avoid public inconvenience .

Concession in bus fare
Sir, — Unlike the Indian Railways, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSTRC) offers concession to senior citizens only on a few services, excluding air-conditioned buses and airport shuttle service. The gesture to extend travel concession for senior citizens in all KSRTC services would be appreciated.

For the cause of cows
Sir, — Hats off to the youth and the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike for forming an association to help stray dogs.
I think the BBMP should take up the cause of stray cows too. In Bangalore, I have seen cows eating garbage. I have also seen the milkman injecting oxytocin, which is banned for use in animals, to the cow so that it can produce more milk. Owners of the cows who cannot take proper care of them, cannot feed them or keep them in hygienic conditions should not be given licences to sell milk.

Road in poor state
Sir, — Subbaraju Road skirting the Banaswadi Main Road is in a mess. A fortnight ago, the street was dug up but no work seems to have been done. The showers that have been lashing the city in the past few days have only compounded the problem and turned the stretch into a slush-laden nightmare. Pedestrians and riders find it increasingly hard to negotiate the stretch littered with stones and pebbles. We request the authorities to speed up the roadworks.
