BANGALORE: Florence Public School, R.T. Nagar, celebrated its Annual Day at Ambedkar Bhavan recently.

The programme began with a welcome dance.

Principal Abida presented the annual report and said that the school not only believed in imparting education but also in inculcating values among students to make them the proud citizens of tomorrow.

Srikanta Swamy, retired vice-principal of R.V. Teachers’ College, was the chief guest.

He urged the parents to encourage their children to participate in co-curricular activities. Schoolchildren presented skits in Kannada, English and Hindi. They also presented dance programmes. The event concluded with the cabinet committee members, who are the outgoing students, expressing gratitude to their mentors and the management. “Mile sur mera tumhara” was sung on the occasion.


At a function organised recently at Shikshakara Sadana by the Department of Education, Oxford English School at Nagarabhavi was given an award for securing 100 per cent results in the SSLC examination. Principal H. N. Usha received the award from Puttanna, MLC. Secretary of Oxford Institutions B.R. Supreeth was present.

The school has been achieving this since its inception.

‘Retro to metro’

“Retro to Metro” was the theme of the Annual Day celebrations of CMR National Public School at Banaswadi.

Hulavadi Ramesh, judge of the High Court of Karnataka, was the chief guest.

He released the school magazine, Gyan Deep.

He lauded the students of the school for their achievement and asked them to serve the nation.

His wife Annapurna distributed prizes.

Christmas celebrated

Students of MES Kishora Kendra Public School, Vidyaranyapura, celebrated Christmas at the school recently.

They presented a skit on “birth of Christ” and sung Christmas carols. A tableau depicting the life of Jesus was prepared. A funfair was held and children tasted some delicious dishes prepared by their teachers.
