“The Yeshwantpur-Jaipur-Yeshwantpur weekly special train will run from May 25 to June 10,” said Babulal Jain, member of the South Western Railway Zone Railway Users' Consultative Committee.
Mr. Jain told The Hindu that the train services which had been stopped in March would be reintroduced owing to public demand.
Mr. Jain thanked A.K. Mital, General Manager of SWR and N.C. Sinha, Chief Operating Manager, for the decision.
He said he would try to prevail upon the authorities to make the train service permanent. Y. Yamunesh, member of the Divisional Rail Users' Consultative Committee (DRUCC), urged the Divisional Railway Manager to fix a date for introducing train services between Hospet-Kottur-Harihar, which had been pending even after the completion of track laying. He was speaking at the meeting of the committee in Hubli on Tuesday.
Bhoopal Raghavendra Shetty and Abu Kalam Azad, members, urged the divisional manager to take steps for introducing intercity train services between Hospet-Bangalore and passenger train service between Bijapur-Guntakal, and constructing a rail overbridge at Anantashayanagudi in Hospet taluk.
