CHAMARAJANAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Manojkumar Meena, returning officer for Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency, has said that steps have been taken to organise a demonstration of electronic voting machines (EVMs) after their randomisation to leaders of various political parties in the district.

Addressing presspersons here, he said the district administration had received adequate EVMs for the four Assembly segments of Chamarajanagar district. All the 1,194 ballot units and 1,189 control units had been verified by experts. As many as 202 EVMs were needed for Hanur, 197 for Kollegal, 204 for Chamarajanagar and 226 for Gundlupet segments. Thirty EVMs had been reserved for each constituency.

He said that five EVMs would be used for demonstration purpose in the district.
